My 2003 Kia Sorrento needs a new 4WD switch according to the dealer. Is the 4WD switch the knob in the cabi?
My 2003 Kia Sorrento needs a new "4WD switch" according to the dealer. Is the "4WD switch" the knob in the cabin that we turn to switch the car into 4WD or does it refer to some part of the 4WD mechanism itself? The car switches on its own between 2WD and 4WD. I don't understand how that would happen if it's just a broken knob. Lately the car switched itself into 4WD and has been stuck there.
sounds like either the sensor that tells car to go to 4WD is bad and keeping it in 4WD, or the Sensor that tells the light whether 2WD or 4WD is bad. I seriously Doubt its the switch in the dash that you mentioned.
Sounds like your dealer "Dumbed it down" for you. Ask for a written estimate, it should have a parts list on it with prices then you can see what the hell they are talking about.
